Hello all,
Some small things I have been toying with lately are the following:
- It seems that the order tokens have a bit of a scaling problem with larger games. I am considering dropping the +1 order token for 2 Medium size ships and 3 small size ships and in return maybe increase the order tokens on some of the officers. It would seem that that would overall reduce the amount of order tokens and make the remaining ones more meaningful.
- Continuing on the last point. I've struggled with the concept of the free activations once your opponent runs out of disruption tokens. Its seems a bit too easy to mitigate the negative effects. I'm toying with the idea of making all advanced, timed and reaction orders require a 2+ to begin with, with the possibility of adding disruption tokens as usual (but with a max of 2 tokens) to increase this difficulty to 4+. This would insert a bit of tension even when you completely outplayed your opponent, but not enough to discourage players from using the Command station.
- I've put some further thought into the dogfighting mechanic and wondered if it would not be easier and more consistent to make a dodge roll (save) instead of the 'double is kill' mechanic? It would give a second variable to play with and it would also make the mechanic more consistent with the rest of the hit-save mechanics in the rest of the game.
Any thoughts would be appreciated...

The dodge save mechanic would of course require that each aircraft also has a DMG score. I imagine this could be higher for heavily armed fighters and would be lower for aircraft that use their weapons in self-defense (since their aim is to only drive the attackers off). It would add another dimension to air combat.
