I have been waiting to see if the rules would evolve a WW1 version. Anything going to happen in this regard?

As much as I would wish that Naval War would span both world wars eventually. I don't think this is going to happen in the near future. The problem is mostly me :), I don't own a single WW1 ship, and my knowledge base of the period and hardware is pretty small. If someone would like to try his hand at filling a WW1 database and designing the command stations I could lend a hand of course, but currently my focus is still WW2. Family life is pretty demanding currently with the little ones around, but I'm still painting and working up my demo navies to be able to pick up the pace again once the kids start going to school and my hands get a bit more untied.

I have all of the detailed data for the entire war. This includes shell size and muzzle velocity and ROF etc. Firing arc as well. If you have a spread sheet format that would need to be followed I can slowly populate it for you. If we can get the spread sheet done I think it would be a good start.

I know how family impacts our gaming. But if you have and excel for the ship characteristics I can populate it for you. My navies are mostly WW1 and few WW2 so I am eager to move this along as I like the rules very much.

Hello Old Warrior,
If you can send me a message via the contact form we can continue this conversation over e-mail. I can then send you the main Excel file so you can experiment.
